![]() Not even sure where to go for info at this point, guess I’ll try to read the manual page by page, line by line. Based upon my experience thus far I suspect that’s all show and no go. I know it’s supposed to work better in bright sunlight and hold up to vibration. I have zero idea what this $500 unit this does for me that a phone doesn’t. I’m completely underwhelmed at this point, so much for 'Adventure' mode. I learned of the Basecamp app from the review on this forum, guess I’ll look at that a bit. Zero help there, I'm sure Paul is a nice fellow. ![]() So I tried to use support chat on Garmin’s web site. It seems to have zero to do with the Zumo XT, it wanted me to select at activity like Golf, running etc. I’ll concede there’s a lot for me to learn, but thus far I had to sign up for Garmin Connect during setup, so naturally I went to the web site and signed in to have a look. I also know of a nice set of back roads east of Roxboro that are fun, didn’t route me that way either…. I put the slider to full adventure, it took me on the main US highway (US 501) and state highway 49 for nearly all the short trip. I know of some back roads, including about the only gravel road within 100 miles that's not private. I tried to do a route from my location in Durham, NC to Roxboro, NC. My first impression is it’s a $500 paper weight. I just purchased a Zumo XT, it’s my 1st GPS unit.
